Backwards bends are essential in yoga practice to balance out the effect of daily habitual movements on our spines. Yet for many of us they can feel difficult and dangerous, with an element of fear as we drop back into the unseen.
Join yoga and calisthenics teacher Eric Chung for this 2 hour workshop exploring safe ways to enter backbending postures, strengthening the posterior muscle chain through movement, breath and isolation exercises. Together we’ll learn to move beyond the natural vulnerability of opening through the front body (chest, shoulders, hips) via myofascial releases and stretching.
There’s something to learn here for everyone, from beginners to the more experienced. Eric will guide the workshop with a hint of play and a whole load of humour, to take your backbending practice to the next level.
